Everyone has the right to life, except for the ones we choose to kill

The potential nomination of Samuel A. Alito Jr. shuffles along. Alito has come under fire for anti-abortion comments he made in the 1980s while he was a Reagan administration lawyer, noting in a 1985 memo that "[the U.S. government] should make clear that we disagree with Roe v. Wade". Interestingly, in an appeals-court case that was overturned by the Supreme Court last year, Alito upheld a decision handed down in a 17-year-old Pennsylvania death-penalty case.
This is right-wing American irony at its finest. Everyone has the right to life, except for the ones we choose to kill. Bush and his "family values" platform have long been opposed to abortion, stem-cell research and anything they consider is against the right to life. This, from the man who oversaw 152 executions while he was governor of Texas, some of which were of the mentally handicapped.
Coming soon: Jack Kevorkian sentenced to death for assisting with someone's suicide.
